Does Gender Inclusivity Matter for Economic Growth in South Africa? An ARDL approach

With inequality at the forefront of economic development, this paper examined impact gender on growth in South Africa. Different dimensions were considered, including female education, labor force participation, fertility, and representation women political arena (democracy). The research applied a quantitative approach (Autoregressive Distributive lag) (ARDL) with secondary data proportion all variables spanning from 1989 to 2019. results revealed that high fertility negatively affects growth. Moreover, effects are positive when have greater access education market. However, an unorthodox finding study reveals negative seats parliament. recommends policymakers should focus guaranteeing obligatory for females country. Additionally, introduce measures favor appointing absorbing qualified jobs.
